Maarten's blog

I, Maarten, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2008 when I was just 3 months old. After brain surgery, chemotherapy in Seattle and proton radiation therapy in Boston, the tumor slept for 8 years but came back in 2017. My amazing brain surgeons and radiologists managed to remove it once again. We are now in 2021 and the tumor has showed its ugly face again. We are lucky to have our life-long Seattle Children's medical team at our side to beat this thing down once more!

Maarten's 10th MRI completed!

Maarten successfully passed his 10th MRI. It is always a stressful moment for all of us but we had Tinker Bell this time to help Maarten, and I have to admit, she did a really good job. Who could have thought that a little pixie dust would make this day fly by?
